Disease strikes him, and he is covered with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the top of his head. In all this, he submits patiently to God, only to be mocked by his wife, who tells him to “curse God and die!”(Job ) Friends arrive, and still he is patient. For days they sit with him in silence, seeing how greatly he suffers. In Luke , Jesus says, “It is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God and serve Him only.'” He said and showed many times that He is the Lord. Jesus says, for example, that He is “the first and the last” (Revelation , ), which God the Father says in Isaiah But maybe you’re looking for .

God will go before me and will let me gloat over those who slander me. (Psalms NIV) My salvation and my honor depend on God ; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. {8} Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. Selah. and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. 2 Thessalonians dealing out retribution to those who do not know God and to those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.

God wanted us to relate to him specifically as a father (Mt. ; Gal. ), and this is because he wants to play that specific role as a leader in our lives. Psychologist Paul Vitz has demonstrated that a weak, abusive, or passive father figure can play a role in our understanding of God (see “Projecting God or Rejecting God”). The Book of Remembrance 17 “They will be Mine,” says the LORD of Hosts, “on the day when I prepare My treasured possession. And I will spare them as a man spares his own son who serves him. 18 So you will again distinguish between the righteous and the wicked, between those who serve God and those who do not.”.

Why God Is Ever With Those Who Are With Him by R. Swinburne Clymer Download PDF EPUB FB2

“If the Lord is with us, why then has all this happened to us?” (Judges ). Gideon asked the question thousands of years ago, and we have been asking it ever since. Haven’t we all asked that question secretly, if not out loud, at some point in suffering.

“I wondered why hard things happened when a loving God was supposedly in control.”. God reveals Himself through two great methods. The first is His written revelation, the Bible. "All Scripture is given by inspiration of God" (2 Timothy ). The Bible is the book by God and about God.

The second method is the evidence of creation, because it was "God who created all things through Jesus Christ" (Ephesiansemphasis added. Still God is using him, just as God amazingly chooses to work through such imperfect children as you and me.

The book we know as the Bible is actually not one book but a compilation of 66 different inspired writings, written in several different genres by many different authors over a span of many centuries.

Some of these writings are personal. That is why it says in John"For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever would believe in Him would not perish but have. For God to say, “I feel sorrow that I made Saul king” is not the same thing as saying, “I would not make him king if I had to do it over.” Oh yes, he would.

God is able to feel sorrow for an act in view of foreknown evil — foreknown pain and sorrow and misery —. God's Sovereign Choice 17 For the Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display My power in you, and that My name might be proclaimed in all the earth.” 18 Therefore God has mercy on whom He wants to have mercy, and He hardens whom He wants to harden.

19 One of you will say to me, “Then why does God still find fault. God is greater than any business, government or bad economy. It doesn’t matter how much bad news there is in the media or what the experts say about current events. God owns everything and gives us those resources when we call on Him.

Even on those to whom God had pronounced judgment, God relented when they sought God (Judges ; Jonah ). But Scripture also presents a God who will withdraw and watch when we choose to do evil, a God who will give us over to the desires of.

God not only wagered Satan over the outcome of Job’s trials, but He actually provoked the bet (Job 1–2). To make matters worse, Job never finds out why he was afflicted in the first place. This is very disturbing for those who hope to see God as just, gracious and loving and not just “playing” with us as if we were pawns on a chessboard.

In the book of Jeremiah, we see that God had plans for Jeremiah before he was even born, and those plans were for eventual good, not evil: “Before I formed thee in the belly, I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb, I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a.

God allowed Job to suffer at the hand of Satan. The book of Job says that the man Job had not done anything wrong. Yet, the trial was allowed. It was for Job’s spiritual growth. God is more interested in our spiritual growth than in a few moments or years of pleasure in this life. Discipline For God’s Followers.

God also disciplines those. It is a sad testament to the wicked times we live in that husbands, the most powerful of all human authorities that God ever established, have had their spiritual authority completely usurped and gutted by both our civil and our church authorities.

The Government Has Nullified God’s Law With Its Domestic Abuse Definitions. God wants us to obey Him, and He blesses those who obey. But at the same time, He wants us to remember that His sovereign purposes do not depend on our obedience, but rather, on His sovereign grace.

Second, note that while God blessed Isaac materially, the very blessing was also a source of chastening, because it made the Philistines envy Isaac. Just like David, my why questions allow me to go before my heavenly Father and pour out my heart to Him.

They help me process what I am going through. What are some of your why questions. Have you ever talked to God about them. I want you to take a minute and get a pen and piece of paper. Then I want you to write down all your why questions. For forty years he had been living in the desert, a nobody.

No one had heard of him. But God picked him up and made him a messenger of God and gave him a name that became known throughout history. He set him in authority over the greatest king the world had ever known at that time and used him in a most remarkable way. Why. God chose to do so.

A good person is hurt: The author of The Book of Job opens with a literary device. He presumes a relationship of sorts between God and Satan. This dialogue sets up the drama of suffering. "Wherefore God also hath highly exalted Him, and given Him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and those in earth, and those under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God.

Answer: When we ask why God tests us or allows us to be tested, we are admitting that testing does indeed come from Him. When God tests His children, He does a valuable thing. David sought God’s testing, asking Him to examine his heart and mind and see that they were true to Him (Psalm ; ).

When Abram was tested by God in the matter of sacrificing Isaac. II. Why God Did It A. That we would seek him. “God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him” (v. 27). Have you ever wondered why you were born into a particular family at a particular moment in history.

After all, you could have been born years ago or in Brazil or India or New Zealand. Since God is an invisible being, man cannot normally see Him. Man can only see God when God allows man to see Him. So Moses asked God in Exodus to allow Him to see God. Initially, God said, “No!” Second Reason.

The second reason that men cannot see God is that if and when they see God. Most of the time, God is a big fan of the Israelites. The Lord plays some part in killing 1, of the their enemies throughout the good book—a big assist.

They do their part, though Author: Brian Patrick Byrne.God has said that we can trust Him in everything and that every event in our lives should be counted as ALL joy (James ).

He has also told us that He will cause good to come out of every situation for those who love Him (Romans ).

When we ask "Why me, God" it's really because we don't believe God.Also read: Why God has to be a jealous God. God, the righteous Judge “ f or He is coming to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with righteousness, and the peoples with His truth. ” Psalm Even people who have never heard of God will be judged by Him one day.
